Raviv is the host of the CBS News Weekend Roundup, a radio magazine broadcast heard coast to coast and on the CBS Radio News smartphone app.

Prior to joining the Washington bureau, Raviv was based in Miami (1992-1997), where he covered political campaigns and the Oklahoma City bombing, in addition to foreign assignments in Cuba, Peru, Britain, and Israel. Raviv also contributed to various CBS News television broadcasts.

Before Miami, Raviv was based in London (1980-1992), where he covered events ranging from Wimbledon tennis to the Falkland Islands war, from Middle East terrorism to the fall of the Berlin Wall. He interviewed the major leaders, including Margaret Thatcher, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Yassir Arafat.
